Cards, Gift Tags and More
My apologies for not updating or posting anything for a while! I have no other excuse than I’ve been lazy! This weekend, I finally did some craft things though: I completed a custom order for a recipe box – the lady who ordered this from me had purchased the first one I posted on etsy a while ago and wanted a second one to give away as a Christmas present. I didn’t have the same paper as the first one (she wanted them to be similar, at least in color) but found some really cute, whimsical floral paper in the colors she wanted (burgundy and green). The paper had some cute white flowers with blue centers in them – so I accented the box with more white paper flowers and some little blue buttons that perfectly matched the blue in the paper (I was so excited – I figured they would be too turquoise!). I experimented with the tabbed recipe sections this time – previously I tried writing the names of the sections (i.e. main dishes, desserts, etc) in glaze pen by hand, and printing them out on the computer. But this time, I tried embossing them using some alphabet stamps I have from Close To My Heart. The letters are too small to use even for cards, but they worked perfectly for the tabs! As Colonel Hannibal Smith from the A Team says, “I love it when a plan comes together!”
I also made a Thanksgiving card … I’m hoping to make more of them; the ideas floating around in my head wouldn’t come out today, unfortunately. And I also made two more Christmas cards (I have more card sets in the making, but didn’t have time today to make more than these two). Little Yellow Bicycle’s new Christmas line finally came in at Archivers last week and it’s beautiful paper and I’m so excited to use it. As soon as I get a little more money in my pocket (*ahem* hint) I will be investing in more of their products!
And finally I made a couple sets of (4) gift tags, using left overs of the Little Yellow Bicycle paper I used today. I love gift tags – they are the perfect finishing touch to a beatifully wrapped present! Check them all out on my etsy site! (www.L7Designs.etsy.com)
Thanks for creating with me!
