Sailboat Decorated Frame thumbnail

Sailboat Decorated Frame

This adorable decorated frame is the second of a two frame custom order done this fall. The only request I had for this frame was that she wanted sailboats. The face of the frame is covered with two different patterned papers. A blue pattern with typographic words (for the sky) and a wave pattern. Around the entire frame is a piece of knotted hemp twine. I had originally planned to use this twine for the rigging in the sailboat, but the boat turned out too small and my fingers too fat. :) The sailboat is made from a die-cut on my SilhouetteSD machine. I took all the pieces apart and put everything back together using different patterned papers. The boat itself has an extra piece of chipboard behind it to make it stand up more from the frame. Behind and in front of the boat are waves cut out by hand then glued on using pieces of foam adhesive. I’m not sure if you can tell in these pictures, but I hand cut different lengths of waves and adhered them with foam adhesive to help make the waves stand out and “roll” a bit more.

Lil’ Man Decorated Frame thumbnail

Lil’ Man Decorated Frame

This decorated picture frame was a custom order I did in November 2009. This particular order was for someone who wanted to give a picture frame to their mother-in-law as they were expecting their first child (and first grandchild!) after Christmas. She wanted a “grandson” theme, but everything in stores was generic and ugly and so wanted something custom and heartfelt. I was given complete creative license for this project aside from her mother-in-law’s personal decorating tastes and styles. The paper and style I did this frame in felt fitting for a little boy! The line is called “Lil’ Man” and features beautiful plaids, stripes, bouncing balls, airplanes and polka dots in beautiful masculine colors like orange, red, blue and green.
The picture of the back of the frame shows that it can be hung on the wall or propped up on a table top!

BoBunny Floral Recipe Box thumbnail

BoBunny Floral Recipe Box

I love decorating these tin recipe boxes. I got the inspiration to start doing these from a recipe box my sister-in-law made for me at a CTMH party. Each of my recipe boxes are individually decorated and designed – I don’t do the same thing twice!
This tin recipe box is decorated and designed using Bo Bunny’s Splendor paper line. Inside the box are 9 dividers for organizing recipe cards. Each divider is designed using Bo Bunny’s Splendor patterned paper and includes a lined square on the front of the divider for notes. Each divider is tabbed and titled with different 7 recipe categories (2 dividers are blank). The recipe categories are: Beverages, Appetizers, Salads, Breads, Soups, Main Dishes and Desserts.
Each recipe box also includes a set of lined coordinating recipe cards (not pictured).

Custom Decorated Journals thumbnail

Custom Decorated Journals

These custom decorated journals were an idea given to me by a friend who asked if I could decorate some composition journals for her. She used the composition journals because they’re a little bigger than other journals and college ruled. She didn’t give me any direction aside from her basic sense of style, which I already had a good grasp of, the rest was left up to me. After I finished her two journals, I received multiple orders for more custom decorated journals including a honeymoon journal to Hawaii, a family reunion planner journal, an autumn themed journal and recently finished two Disney journals (one for me for a trip to DisneyWorld!). All the journals I have used so far have been simple composition books and college ruled. Both the inside and outside of the front and back covers are decorated with coordinating papers and embellishments of all my journals.

Cheerful Custom Card Box thumbnail

Cheerful Custom Card Box

This fun card box was custom designed for a customer who was giving it to a friend who had just started to make her own cards. One of the directions I was given was to make a larger number of cards using a wide variety of techniques, colors and patterns to help inspire her friend. She asked me to decorate the box itself using cheerful, colorful, bright patterns.
