Wow it has been a long time since I have updated my site! For that, I apologize! Last week, I updated my Portfolio page with the two Baby Book albums I worked on earlier this summer. These two albums are: Logan Baby Boy Album (a 40+ page 12×12 album) and Baby Hannah Book (an 8 1/2×11 album). After finishing the Baby Hannah Book for my sister-in-law, I received an order for a similar book that I have been working on this past week. This project should be finished in a week or two and I will update my portfolio with the pictures!

Without further ado, my card idea for the week!

Embossed Hello Card

This card is made using 70% recycled cardstock paper! This Green Stack patterned paper from DCWV is a great collection to have in your stock, especially those who are concerned about the environment! These papers are wonderfully designed and have an environmental theme to them with flowers, trees and animals!

Materials

  • The Green Stack patterned cardstock by Die Cuts With A View (choose 4 different patterns to use)
  • Red Ribbon
  • Just Wanted To Say Hi rubber stamp by Penny Black Inc
  • Red embossing powder
  • Red rhinestone stickers
  • Adhesives: foam pop dots (large and mini), paper adhesive

Instructions

  1. Cut a piece of patterned cardstock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″. Score and fold in half to make a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4″ card. The card will have a landscape orientation.
  2. Cut a second (red for my card) piece of patterned cardstock to 5 1/4 x 4″. Do not adhere to the card just yet.
  3. Cut a third piece of patterned cardstock (white and grey for my card) to 4 3/4 x 3 3/4″. Adhere this piece onto the second piece of cardstock.
  4. Take a piece of ribbon, at least 9″. Tie the two ends together in a knot then trim one end shorter than the other and adhere those two ends around the back of the card. On the front of the card the knot should be toward the left or right edge of the cardstock pieces. Trim the ends of the knot.
  5. Center and adhere the ribboned cardstock to the front of the card.
  6. On a smaller piece of cardstock matching the third piece you cut, stamp and emboss the sentiment stamp. Trim around the embossed sentiment (let it cool first!) leaving a 1/8″ border on all 4 sides.
  7. Adhere the embossed sentiment to a fourth piece of patterned paper. Trim leaving a 1/8″ border. Adhere these to another piece of cardstock that matches the second pattern you cut. Trim leaving a 1/8″ border. Adhere these pieces to the top left corner of the card about 1/8″ from the top and left edges of the layered cardstock.
  8. Cut out three different flower shapes from the patterned cardstock. Adhere one flat against the embossed sentiment. Adhere another using mini pop dots and the third using a large pop dot.
  9. Adorn the card with little red rhinestone stickers.
