Retro Pocket Album
I got this great idea from my sister-in-law, Heather for a pocket album. I made it entirely from scratch by hand – the covers have a chipboard base covered with paper, and the other 4 pages (front and back) are pockets made from this really neat Metropolitan Retro print paper from American Crafts. Each pocket page, measured at 4″ x 9″, can fit a picture (front and back) and each pocket has a pull-out insert that you can also put pictures on (front and back). So, in other words the book can fit about 20 pictures. It’s decorated with ribbon and other color coordinating embellishments, like flowers and brads and these cool chipboard embellishments I got at a scrapbook store in Twin Falls, ID this weekend. I also got to try out this really cool rubbery/plastic ribbon decorated with flowers. It’s really cute and fun to work with! I didn’t put any words or phrases or make a “theme” for this book because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with it, so I left it blank for you to choose! It would be perfect as a “friend” album with pictures of you and your friends at the beach or just hanging out on a friday night! Check it out on http://l7designs.etsy.com!
I am also currently working on a couple custom albums. One is a wedding album for a friend of my Mom’s getting married in a couple weeks, and I received a couple requests for a hunting album and Love album. My in-laws, husband and I went to Twin Falls, ID this weekend to do some sightseeing and found a FANTASTIC scrapbooking store in the old city center of Twin Falls called Scrappin Girl Friends. It was a relatively small shop, but packed with ideas, projects, albums, cards, you name it. I haven’t been so creatively inspired in a long time. My mother-in-law and I each went away with a handful of album and layout kits and a kit for an advent calendar for Christmas. Be looking on my etsy site and on here in the next few weeks for more great albums and projects! I have a lot of creativity and designs running through my brain and they need to come out!
Thanks for reading with me!
