Beach and Baby Albums
As I mentioned in my previous posts this month, for me, has been dedicated to finishing some personal projects I have been putting off as well as fulfilling some custom orders for scrapbook albums. This afternoon I finished all the albums I had to work on this month! I wasn’t even sure I would be able to finish one of the albums, as the entire thing was custom and took a while to put together by hand.
I put together 3 different 8×8 albums – one is a family album using this adorable Paisley and Petals album and line of paper and embellishments from SEI. I bought an 8×8 album kit from Michaels and bought additional pages and paper/embellishments from the SEI website. **NOTE: Those of you who adore SEI like I do check their website for products before going to the store! I found paper and embellishments there cheaper than at the store, and they had a lot more than I was ever able to find! My local scrapbooking store rarely caries much SEI, and typically marks up the price a bunch – go to www.shopsei.com** Anyway, I absolutely love how it turned out. I contacted family and friends of the person I am giving the album to for pictures and printed, cropped and glued the pictures in. I left some pages blank for pictures I wasn’t able to get – and will probably need to make additional pages and send them to her later on!
The second 8×8 album is one of two beach albums I put together. Both albums were ordered for Christmas presents for friends of my Mom. Both of them were created using canvas covered albums from Pioneer Photo Albums, Inc. The first one (and my favorite of the two) was probably the quickest and easiest I have ever made. I got a pack of 8×8 patterned paper from Memory Makers. It’s really cute paper using tan, pink, orange, blue, purple and green colors, lots of different patterns, flowers and half the pages were cut into different shapes (scalloped, circular, a reverse scallop, zigzagged, and others). I decorated each page with beachy chipboard and stickers from K & Company. The 3rd album (and 2nd beach album) is made from Deja View’s Pear 8×8 punch-out tablet. I used colorful, fun, and funky beach and sun embellishments for each page making it a bright, cheerful album!
The Baby album I finished this afternoon is a custom-made word album for a friend of mine having a baby in a few months. I made a LOVE word album a while ago and followed the same pattern and used the same font (or rather, my graphic designer husband did!). My dear friend loves to surf and would spend all her life on the beach … or in the mountains, so beach/surfing was the theme I chose for this album. She is not a girly girl at all, so I found some really cool beach paper from Scenic Paper Route Co called North Shore. I decorated the album using beachy/travel/surfing embellishments and ribbon, as well as some baby quotes and words.
Just a reminder that I am having a 50% off sale on my etsy site! Get 50% off your entire purchase until the end of December. January 1st I will be clearing my etsy site of anything not purchased and will be starting the new year with brand-new products, cards and albums!
