Friday Favorites

  1. This adorable St Patricks Day Shamrock card by MFCardworks!

I love the different colors and patterns she uses – in another card and another design it might look cluttered, but it looks so clean and sophisticated! I recently found her etsy site and all of her cards have this similar sophisticated, elegant, clean look to them!

  2. Tyrone Wells‘ new CD: Remain.

    Tyrone Wells - Remain

A good friend told me about Tyrone Wells a while ago and until a week or so ago I haven’t been able to find his music anywhere in Boise, ID. On a whim I looked for him again at the Record Exchange here and found his newest CD, Remain! It is so beautiful, I just love it. His style is sort of a cross between Amos Lee (my 2nd favorite artist of all time) and The Fray. It’s absolutely beautiful and I encourage you to check him out!

  3. My 3 piece Xacto Scrapbooking Knife Kit. Oh it’s a papercrafters dream come true! This fantastic set comes with a straight #11 Blade Gripster knife, a swivel knife and a (and this is the best one) Stencil knife, along with a set of extra blades for each all packaged in a sturdy wooden box lined with foam.

I get flack every once in a while because I don’t use paper cutters (like the ones Fiskars and Making Memories have) or rotary blades (except for cutting ribbon). I’m a tried and true Xacto knife user for a wide variety of reasons and I was so excited to find this at Michaels a long while ago and received it for Christmas this year. It costs about $15 on Amazon and $20-30 at Michaels and is a fantastic tool kit to have.

  4. Lyons tea. Not many people know this but I am a HUGE tea drinker. Not the dainty herbal stuff most Americans prefer, but the English Breakfast and Earl Grey blends the British and Irish drink; complete with a splash of milk and some sugar. I lived for about 3 months in Dublin, Ireland a little over 4 years ago and fell in love with Lyons Tea. It was all we drank and it is absolutely delicious. We tried the Original Blend, the Gold Blend and the Kenya Blend. For my money, by far the best was the Gold Blend:

Lyons Gold Blend is a blend of the finest Kenyan, Assam and Ceylon teas. This Tea is gently rolled to produce a distinguished flavour and has a full bodied, golden colour. From the Lyons Tea website.

I bought a box of this delicious tea (with a Pyramid bag for better steepage and flavor!) online from a store called British Delights, but I have found it in the international aisle at Albertson’s, and online at Amazon.com.

  5. Great Outdoors Layout Kit from Scenic Route Paper Company.

I took a class a month or so ago that featured this layout kit and was told that Scenic Route wasn’t going to be releasing this line (or the kit) on their site. Imagine my delight when I received their newsletter yesterday saying they were releasing their Great Outdoors Layout Kit on their site! As far as I know, they still aren’t releasing it as a product line, but the layout kit is fantastic. It’s beautiful paper with wonderful embellishments – all in a beautiful nature theme.

Thanks for creating with me!
