Welcome Home! Album
Congrats to my sister-in-law and hubby on owning their first house! Heather and her husband Gregg recently purchased a new home in Fresno and we are very excited for them. As a house warming gift for them I put together a little “Welcome Home” Album. I got the house idea from a little store in Twin Falls, ID that had a real cute Haunted House album on display. The album I made for Heather is a lot different from the Haunted House album (and for good reason) and it was so fun to make. I made the front and back of the house out of chipboard and cut out the doors. All the paper I used for the entire album was from a little 8×8 paper pack from my local scrapbooking store. I think the paper was made by Memory Keepers or something like that – our scrapbooking store here every once in a while gives out these packs of 8×8 patterned paper (2 sheets of each pattern and it comes out to about 24-36 sheets) – the perfect amount of paper for this album! I loved the patterns – cheerful colors with cute designs – not too girly and flowery and the patterns weren’t too bold, which was great for this album as I needed to have space for pictures and didn’t want the pattern of the paper to detract from the photos or take up too much space on the page so I wouldn’t have room to put pictures.
Anyway it was a great project and a lot of fun to put together! My husband came up with the idea for the sliding door and after a few trials it came out great! It’s such a great “Welcome Home” gift and a great way for the new homeowners to showcase their new house and decorated rooms!
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me about custom albums or other projects or cards! I love doing custom work and love to experiment with new ideas, patterns and colors! (Included in the photos below is a LOVE word album I made for a dear friend of mine – she requested the album and the colors and I put the rest together!)
Also, as I mentioned in my previous post, please let me know your thoughts and if you would like to be included in a possible email card tutorial. I have been tossing around the idea of doing a weekly email featuring a card of my design with instructions, sketches, tips and modifications. Please let me know your thoughts and comments on this idea and whether you would like to participate if/when I get it up!
Thanks for reading with me!

Okay, so the pictures don’t even do justice to what an AMAZING album this is! Carrie, this is one of the most creative albums I’ve ever seen!
