Watch Out!
Be watching my blog and esty site in the next few days. I have been hard at work the past couple days making a bunch of different cards and a box of cards. I have a lot of really great paper that is begging to be used for cards, albums, and other crafty projects. I also have a few other projects in the works – my sister-in-law gave me some great ideas for baby books that I am planning on putting together (at least one of them) this weekend, an accordion pocket album, possibly a “LOVE” word album and a few other projects. The question is where do I start and when and how!
In an effort to keep costs down for my customers
I am starting to hand-make all my albums. For instance, the wedding album I did last week. I had purchased an album at my local scrapbooking store for about $20. And believe me, those books can run quite a bit more expensive than that. Between the book, supplies and labor time to make custom projects like that – costs can run up quite a bit. So I was brainstorming one day and came up with the idea of making those albums myself. All it would take is a bit of fabric, chipboard, spray adhesive and the most amazing tool for a scrapbooker/card maker my score board. This weekend I am going to head up to the fabric store or art store (wherever one can get some canvas) and experiment a little bit. I don’t get along real well with fabric, so I will need to practice a bit before I really commit myself
.
I was able to find a good source of chipboard – large pieces of it too! So, any albums that I made that involve chipboard – rather than purchasing the specially made albums at my scrapping store, I am going to try my hardest to make them myself – at a fraction of the cost.
All for now – keep checking back. I have a lot of cards done and ready to post on etsy so keep looking in the next couple days while I get some more things done to post. I will put a notice here on my blog when they are ready!
Thanks for reading with me!
