I hope you enjoyed my week of birthday card ideas last week! I have a lot of fun making my cards and I really hope I am inspiring you to create your own as well! My card this week is a thank you card I made for some extended family we are staying with on our trip to Iowa next week. They are extended family of my husband’s and I know very little about them, so I’m hoping a cheerful thank you card will hit the spot!

Spring Flowers Thank You Card

Materials

  • Boy Splats Glitter Cardstock from Die Cuts With A View (DCWV)
  • Quilt Glitter Cardstock from Die Cuts With A View (DCWV) – there are multiple patterned strips on this cardstock – I used the large colorful flowers with stems on the green background and the blue with white flowers strip
  • Green cardstock (used a grass or kelly green)
  • Adhesives – paper adhesive and mini pop dots
  • Thank You stamp – it will work best if the words are stacked rather than side by side. (I used an acrylic stamp from SEI)
  • Dew Drop Pearlescent Ivy Brilliance ink
  • Die cutting machine or scissors (for cutting out flowers, grass and frame)

Instructions

  1. Cut a piece of Boy Splats Glitter cardstock to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. Score and fold in half to make a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card. The card will have a landscape orientation.
  2. Die cut or cut by hand grass from the green cardstock. Adhere across the bottom edge of the card. (cut an extra bit to use later) On my die-cut machine, I have a cut-out of grass that I shrunk down to make the blades closer together then cut out 3 of them; adhering 2 across the bottom then left the third to adhere with mini pop dots after I glued my flowers – but I’ll get to that part later.
  3. Cut out 5 flowers from the flower strip on the Quilt Patterned cardstock. Cut out the flower and stem (on 3 of the flowers I cut off the leaves as well) and adhere 3 of the flowers to the cardstock base. Arrange them so 2 of the flowers are on the far sides of the card with the third one in the center.
  4. Adhere the remaining 2 flowers with leaves between the other flowers with mini pop dots.
  5. Adhere the last green grass cutout on pop dots overlapping the flower stems.
  6. Die cut or cut out a cute frame that roughly measures 2 1/4 x 3 in green cardstock. Adhere centered at the top of the card.
  7. Stamp ‘Thank You’ in the ivy green pearlescent ink on the blue floral cardstock. Trim around the edges leaving a 1/16″ border. Adhere onto white cardstock (I just used the back side of the blue floral cardstock) and trim around the edges leaving a 1/16″ border. Adhere to the center of the green frame with mini pop dots.

A few other embellishments might be some sparkly beads in the centers of some of the flowers; a stamped sentiment inside the card; or some glitter glue dotted or swirled in the green grass cutouts!

Thanks for creating with me!
