Welcome to L7Designs! I can’t believe it is already the last week of April! My how the time flies! This week’s card tutorial features some of my favorite paper and designs. Normally my tastes tend to be a little more simple and modern, but these bright, colorful, glittery papers from Die Cuts With A View (DCWV) are so fun I can’t pass them up! These cards take a bit more work than others, so get out your CutterBee scissors and get ready for some cuttin’ up fun!

  1. Cut a piece of 8 1/2″ x 11″ Bankroll Bling cardstock in half (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″). Score and fold in half to make a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card. The card will have a landscape orientation.
  2. Cut a piece of 5 1/4″ x 4″ Glitter Basic Stripe patterned cardstock and adhere to the center of the green cardstock base.
  3. Cut out any number of circles and/or flowers from the Glitter Flower Dots patterned paper (I cut out 7 circles of varying colors and sizes along with 1 flower – I have been using the same sheet of cardstock for over a year now – I just keep using different circles and layouts!)
  4. Lay out the circles and flowers over the striped cardstock in a design that you like – in this design, my circles are arranged around the right and bottom edges with the flower and sentiment in the top left corner. Adhere each cut out circle or flower at a different height – for some adhere directly to the paper, others use mini pop dots and on a couple use large pop dots. This will give the card a real fun layered effect!
  5. Stamp sentiment on bankroll bling cardstock in black ink. Cut around the sentiment leaving a 1/8″ border.
  6. Adhere the stamped green cardstock at the top center of the striped cardstock. Adhere the flower cut out with a large pop dot to the left of the stamped cardstock.

These cards are so cheerful, they will brighten anyone’s day!
